#087: "Fake it till you make it" is horrible advice.
Show Notes

On today’s episode, Greg and Brian are talking about a concept called “fake it till you make it” or also known as “acting as if.”

Although this concept can be used successfully in certain situations, it can also give you a false sense of confidence in your abilities which can lead to you to “fight outside your weight class.” This way of thinking may also cause you to be more susceptible to confirmation bias.

Greg and Brian give several examples of how this type of thinking can affect your performance and they also discuss some of the ways you can get better at spotting people who don’t really know as much as they probably should about an issue.
